Confessions of an Untenured Teacher

Hi everyone...I'd like to introduce you all to our Date of the Week! I realize it's Friday...but Sarah's info has been sitting in my inbox since the day before tragedy struck our family. So, I'm giving her some extra "Date" time!

Friends, meet Sarah, from "Confessions of an Untenured Teacher". Sarah's blog is listed in the Education/Homeschool category...and here is what Sarah has to say about her blog:

Sarah writes about her adventures and misadventures as a special education teacher! Join her in laughing and crying over her students, colleagues, and administrators!

Following are the "interview" questions I asked Sarah:

What is the best job you've ever had?

Teaching. But it's more like "only" job I've ever had (I don't count tutoring or babysitting!). I may complain about the school administration every once in awhile, and I may be jealous of people who can go pee whenever they feel like it, but at the end of the day, I like to think that I'm being paid to make a difference. Oh, and you can't beat the summers off!

What has been the greatest moment of your life so far?

I have so many "greatest moments" in my 28 years! But here are some of the big ones:

Kissing my husband for the first time (at our wedding!)
Getting - and surviving- my first year as a teacher
Buying our first house
Bringing home our first puppy (I'd always wanted one!!)
Making my first Etsy sale

What would you say your passion is?

My passion is creativity--both inside the classroom and out! I am most excited about teaching when I can be use my creativity to create fun lessons. And I love creating handmade paper goodies for my shop!!
When I'm not exercising my creativity, I'm passionate about reading good books, seeing new sights, connecting with friends and family, and eating delicious food!!

Sarah choose the following posts as her favorites from "Confessions of an Untenured Teacher"...

OMG! Homophones!...Kids are too funny! This post is about what one student wrote for the word "weight" in regards to her mom! Hilarious!

And then I choked down the giggles...Okay...Sarah's posts are making me want to go back to school and become a teacher! This post is another account of how a kiddo responded to a question...adorable!!

Brace Yourselves...Kids are so dang funny! This post is an incredibly cute post about how one of her student's "broke it to her" (via palm reading) about when her second child will die. Seriously cute!

Okay friends, that's Sarah and "Confessions of an Untenured Teacher"! Head on over there...and tell her Mama sent you!
